Mark your calendars to come celebrate 20 wonderful years at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center Saturday, May 5th, from 10am until 3:30pm.
Staff from the Center, partnering with the Lewis and Clark Foundation, are planning a big celebration. The event is sponsored by Coca-Cola, Meadow Gold, Super One Foods, and CTA Architects and Engineers. Thanks to our sponsors, everything is FREE – including admission, all events, and free food: hot dogs, ice cream, sodas and cookies or cake. Here’s what we have planned:
Lewis and Clark Honor Guard: their outdoor encampment will feature demonstrations of the methods of early 1800s cooking, much like what occurred during the expedition.
1st U.S. Volunteer Infantry Regiment Reenactors: Visitors will experience life during the late 1870s, and the role U.S. volunteers would play in the settling of the West. Reenactors will be on hand throughout the day.
Raptors of Montana: (11 am to 12 noon) The Montana Raptor Conservation Center from Bozeman will bring a 1-hour program to visitors, complete with four of their rescue birds on hand.
Little Shell Chippewa Dancers: (1 pm to 2:30 pm) Visitors will experience native dancing, drumming, and a deeper appreciation for the First Peoples during a 90-minute presentation
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP): Staff from FWP will be on hand providing families with an in-depth look at the Fish of the Missouri, “then and now.”
Food: Complimentary grilled hot dogs, coca-cola products, anniversary celebration cake or cookies, and ice cream
Buddy the Newfie: Our very own volunteer Newfoundland dog “Buddy” will also be on hand to greet vistors and pose for a picture or two.
Come help us celebrate our 20th Anniversary!
